Two Pirates Defensive Linemen Find New Homes at Division I Level

INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - Two more members of the defensive side of the ball of the ICC Football team have committed to Division I programs as Ajahvea Robinson has committed to the University of New Mexico and Emmanuel Peter has committed to Texas State University for the 2026-2027 season.

For Robsinson, this will be his second stint at the Division I level as he transferred to ICC from Northern Illinois, and spent two seasons with the Pirates. In his two years, the Chicago native amassed 48 total tackles, 10.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss, leading to All-Conference Honorable Mention Awards in both seasons. Robinson had multiple big time performances throughout the season, including a season high two sacks and a forced fumble in a 21-11 road victory over NEO early in the season. A few weeks later in a 26-0 victory over Highland, Robinson led the way with three tackles for loss to help the Pirates shoutout the Scotties.

The Lobos compete in the competitive Mountain West Conference where they are coming off a brilliant season under first year head coach Jason Eck as they finished 9-4 and lost in the Rate Bowl to the University of Minnesota.

Peter, the Las Vegas native, spent just one season with ICC, making an immediate impact as a freshman on the Defensive Line. In nine games played, Peter racked up 13 total tackles, two sacks and 2.5 tackles for loss. Peter really hit his stride in the latter half of the season, racking up a sack and a tackle for loss each in two of the Pirates final four games. Peter also amassed a season high three tackles in a loss to Hutchinson Community College.

The Bobcats compete in the Sun Belt Conference where they finished the season on a high note, defeating Rice in the Armed Forces Bowl to complete a 7-6 season.
