Anderson shines in Pirates big win

INDEPENDENCE, Kan.  -  One start into his collegiate career, Quarterback Keegan Anderson is already turning heads as he has been named the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Pirates 51-14 win over Ellsworth.

Anderson got his first game action in week zero in the second half of the Pirates game against Trinity Valley and was named the starter heading into their week one matchup. Anderson had the offense clicking right from the jump in their first road game as Indy scored five first half touchdowns en route to a 37-0 halftime lead. In just a half of play, Anderson threw for 298 yards on 17 completions and four touchdown passes. Two of the four touchdown passes were of the 50+ yard variety, 53 yards and 60 yards, both to Ejani Shakir.

Anderson will look to build on his award winning week this Saturday, when the Pirates travel to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M for a 7:00 pm kickoff.
