Indy WBB's Biribebe headed to Florida Memorial

INDEPENDENCE, Kan. - After two years in the KJCCC, the latter with the Pirates, Sophomore Forward Joy Biribebe will continue her academic and basketball career at Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida. 

Biribebe was a steady presence on the floor for the Lady Pirates all season long, as she appeared in 29 games and started 23 games while she averaged two points and 3.6 rebounds per game.

The 6’0 forward from Nigeria spent her freshman year at conference foe Barton before joining the Pirates in the 2025-2026 season. Biribebe had her best game of the season against her former team when Barton came to Independence as she poured in a season high nine points and grabbed four rebounds in a close loss to the Cougars. 

Florida Memorial is an NAIA school that competes in the Sun Conference and is coming off of a 16-9 season that came to an end with a loss in the conference tournament to Webber International University.
